Everything you need to know
How Skin Resonance works, what you need, and what to expect from your first session.
Skin Resonance is a sound-based skincare support app that uses specific audio frequencies to help your skin from the inside. Choose from 9 skin concerns or build your own custom routine. The app guides you through a step-by-step listening session targeting the physiological state behind your concern. All you need is headphones and a quiet moment.
Your skin responds directly to what is happening inside your body. Stress raises cortisol, which triggers inflammation and breakouts. Poor sleep reduces cell turnover and hydration. Tension restricts circulation, leaving skin dull and tired. Specific audio frequencies can support nervous system regulation, deeper sleep, and stress reduction, all of which peer-reviewed research links to improved skin health.
The app includes 9 concern-based routines: tired or dull skin, stressed or breakout-prone skin, puffiness and inflammation, cellular rest and restoration, pre-event glow, post-treatment recovery, tension and tightness, hormonal balance support, and ageing and elasticity. Each concern maps to a specific physiological response, and the routine targets the underlying cause rather than the surface symptom. There is also a guided builder that creates a personalised routine based on your goal, available time, and skincare tools.
For the Sound and rest routines, you just need a pair of headphones and somewhere comfortable to lie down or sit quietly. No skincare products, tools, or prior experience required. If you already use tools like a red light mask, LED device, microcurrent or radiofrequency device, gua sha, facial roller, or derma roller, the With skincare routines show you how to layer them into your session. Even just a serum and moisturiser counts.
Binaural beats are created when two slightly different tones are played in each ear. Your brain perceives the difference as a rhythmic pulse, which can influence brainwave activity. They require headphones to work. Solfeggio frequencies are specific single tones (174 Hz and above) with a long history in sound healing traditions. These work through speakers or headphones. Skin Resonance uses both, depending on the routine.
Skin Resonance includes 5 ambient soundscapes: rain, ocean, forest, fire, and stream. These play in the background alongside your frequency routine, adding a natural texture that many people find helps them relax more deeply. Soundscapes are optional and you can adjust their volume independently.
The guided builder lets you create a personalised frequency routine. Choose your goal (relaxation, repair, energise, or sleep), set your available time (20, 30, 45, or 60 minutes), and select which skincare tools you own. The app builds a custom routine with the right frequency sequence for your goal, timed to fit your window, with tool prompts at the appropriate steps.
No. Skin Resonance does not claim to treat or cure any skin condition. Each routine targets a physiological state such as stress reduction, sleep quality, or improved circulation that research associates with better skin health. The app supports your body's own restoration processes through sound-based relaxation. If you have a clinical skin condition, consult a dermatologist.
Preset routines run between 20 and 60 minutes depending on the concern. The guided builder lets you set your own session length. Each routine is broken into timed steps with guidance on what to do during each stage. You can pause, skip, or repeat steps as needed.
Sound and rest routines use frequencies alone. No tools, no products, no skincare knowledge needed. With skincare routines layer the same frequency sequences around your skincare tools and products, timing each step so the sound and the treatment work together. The app uses flexible language, so you can substitute tools you have for ones you do not.
Yes. The With skincare routines are designed to complement what you already do. If you use a red light mask, the app times your frequency session to match your treatment duration. If you do facial massage, the app tells you when to start and which frequency supports that stage. If you have no skincare routine at all, the Sound and rest routines work independently.
Skin Resonance works on any device with a web browser: phone, tablet, or desktop. You can also install it as an app on your home screen on both iOS and Android for quick access. On iOS, tap Share then Add to Home Screen. On Android, use the install prompt at the bottom of the app.
Yes. Each routine includes a Print this routine button that produces a clean, branded A4 printout with all the steps, frequencies, and tool prompts. Useful for sessions where you want to leave your phone across the room.
Skin Resonance is a one-time purchase of £12. That includes all 9 routines, the guided builder, all soundscapes, and all future updates. No subscription, no recurring charges.
